Jesus said some astounding things about himself, which, if true, certainly qualify him to be your Savior. He said -

"I and my Father are one"
(Jn.10:27-30).
"Believe in God, believe also in me"
(Jn.14:1).

"No one comes to the Father but by me"
(Jn.14:2-6).
"He who has seen me has seen the Father"
(Jn.14:8,9).

"I am in the Father and the Father is in me"
(Jn.14:10,11)

"He who hates me hates my Father also"
(Jn.15:22-24).

Someone who would openly claim equality with God must either be a bad man -- a deceiver, a madman - a demoniac. Or he must be what Jesus claimed to be, the God-man -- Deity in human flesh.

That Jesus was a bad man is a contradiction of history. Even his most committed critics admit Jesus Christ lived the world's highest example of life as it ought to be lived.

That Jesus was a mad man is pure presumption. A French psychiatrist wrote a book about Jesus from the standpoint of psychoanalysis. He diagnosed Jesus as, "The sanest, most integrated person the world has ever seen."

The only alternative is that Jesus was, as he claimed to be, the God-man. That's awesome. It means Jesus is God's way to people, and people's way to God! Think about that for a moment. God finds himself in Jesus and is with people (2 Cor. 5:19). People find themselves in Jesus and are with God (Jn.17:20-24). Wow!

Jesus is also the Savior of the world (Mt. 1:18-23). Jesus said he was the Son of God (Mt. 27:43), and then explained how God sent his Son into the world, so through the Son the world might be saved (Jn. 3:17). By his death on the cross -- "the righteous for the unrighteous"(1 Pet. 3:18) -- Jesus answers the all important question of how a guilty sinner can find love, acceptance and forgiveness in the eyes of a righteous God.

If Jesus were just a supreme example, or a matchless teacher, or the perfect human, he could not meet your greatest need, that of a Savior. Why is it that Jesus, and Jesus alone, qualifies to be your Savior? The answer is quite simple --

Others point the way to truth and life.
Jesus says, "I am the way, the truth and the life!" (Jn.14:6).

One honest seeker put it this way --

"In my pilgrimage there came a moment when I realized that, without Jesus, the Way, there is no going. Without Jesus, the Truth, there is no knowing. Without Jesus, the Life, there is no living."

Why Jesus? Perhaps now, honest seeker, you know why. Is that true?
