To take step three and ask Jesus to be your Savior, pray this simple prayer.

Dear God, I realize I have sinned. I believe Jesus can save me. I now ask Him to be my Savior. Help me to do what Jesus would do, so I can lead others to Jesus, too.
Amen.

Let's Review the Simplest Answer Ever Given to the Greatest Question Ever Asked

"Everyone (that means you) who calls upon the name of the Lord (that is, realize your need, believe Jesus can satisfy your need, and ask Him to) will be saved."

  You did that didn't you!
And you meant it! Therefore you can know you're saved...
because God said so (Rom. 10:13).

The Bible is God's Word isn't it? Would God lie? No. He means exactly what he said, doesn't he? God said if you would call on His name, you would be saved.

God said it. You did it. That settles it!

At this point, one seeker said, "Is it really that simple? I've been making it it too hard." Many people do make it too hard, but God made your salvation as simple as possible - REJOICE !

Here is some more good news...

This does not mean that you will never sin again. You live in a world where evil is real. Accepting Jesus does not make you immune to evil. Temptations will come ( 1 Cor.10:13). On occasion, you will stumble. But, you need not be permanently disabled.
Forgiveness is possible even in the case of recurring sin. How? Through steady use of the believer's "bar of soap" which is 1 Jn. 1:9 -- "If we confess our sins, God is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness."
When you soil your hands you wash them. You do not expect them to stay clean. The cleansing, though effective, is not permanent. Should you soil your hands again, rewashing makes them clean again.
The same principle applies when you sin. Forgiveness, while effective, is an ongoing process. Should you soil your soul through "new" or recurring sin, confess it instantly, accept the cleansing God offers, and get on with the business of abundant living. Do so as often as needed. In time, the joy of being clean clear through will help you fortify yourself against the lure of temptation.
